In this article, you'll learn how to set up two-factor authentication (2FA) for your email account in Xchange WebAccess and improve your account security.
What Is Two-Factor Authentication?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) provides an additional layer of security for your email account.
In addition to your regular email password, you need a time-limited security code generated by an authenticator app on your smartphone.
This makes it more difficult for unauthorized users to access your email account, even if they know your password.
Requirements
Before starting, make sure you have:
Access to your email account in Xchange WebAccess.
Your email address and email password.
A smartphone running iOS or Android.
The ability to install the IceWarp Authenticator App on your smartphone.
Step 1: Log In to Xchange WebAccess
Open your web browser.
Visit the Webland login page.
Open Xchange WebAccess.
Log in using your email address and email password.
Step 2: Open Your Profile
Click your profile picture icon in the upper-right corner.
A dropdown menu with various settings will appear.
Step 3: Select Two-Factor Authentication
In the dropdown menu, select Two-Factor Authentication – Set Up Now.
The two-factor authentication setup process will open.
Step 4: Select the Authenticator App
Click Webland Authenticator App.
Select your smartphone's operating system:
iOS for Apple iPhones.
Android for Android smartphones.
Step 5: Install the Authenticator App
Open the Apple App Store or Google Play Store on your smartphone.
Search for the IceWarp Authenticator App.
Download and install the app.
Open the app once installation is complete.
Step 6: Scan the QR Code
A QR code will be displayed in Xchange WebAccess.
Open the IceWarp Authenticator App on your smartphone.
Scan the displayed QR code using the app.
Once linked successfully, the app will generate time-limited security codes.
Important: Keep the QR code private and do not share it with anyone, as it is used to configure your second authentication factor.
Step 7: Enter the Security Code
Open the IceWarp Authenticator App on your smartphone.
Find the current security code displayed in the app.
Enter the security code together with your email password in the corresponding field in Xchange WebAccess.
Confirm your entry to complete the setup.
Note: Security codes are only valid for a limited time. If a code expires, use the next code displayed in the app.
Step 8: Complete the Setup
After successful confirmation, two-factor authentication is enabled for your email account.
From now on, you will need a security code from your authenticator app in addition to your email password when logging in to Xchange WebAccess.
Important Notes
Smartphone: Keep your smartphone secure, as you will need it to sign in.
Security codes: Never share your security codes with anyone.
Changing devices: If you change your smartphone or lose access to your authenticator app, you may need to set up two-factor authentication again.
Enabling two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of protection to your email account and helps prevent unauthorized access.
