This article explains how to export, locally back up, and restore your GroupWare data, including calendars, tasks, notes, and contacts, using WebAccess.
Who is this guide for?
This guide applies to customers who manage their email and GroupWare services through WebAccess on the previous Webland platform (Classic).
You can access the previous platform at classic.webland.ch.
Are you already using the new Webland platform (WHMCS)? Please log in through the new Webland website. The following instructions refer to WebAccess on the previous platform.
Requirements
You have an active email account with access to WebAccess.
You know your email address and password.
You have sufficient storage space on your device to save the backup file locally.
Back Up GroupWare Data (Export)
To prevent the loss of important information such as calendar events, tasks, notes, and contacts, we recommend regularly creating a local backup of your GroupWare data.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Log in to WebAccess using your email account and password.
Click your profile/picture icon in the upper-right corner of the menu bar and select Settings (Einstellungen).
Navigate to Import/Export → GroupWare.
Click Export (Exportieren) to export your GroupWare data.
Save the generated XML file (.xml) in a secure location on your device.
The exported file serves as a local backup of your GroupWare data and can be used to restore your information if needed.
Restore GroupWare Data (Import)
If you want to restore previously backed-up GroupWare data, you can import the exported XML file through WebAccess.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Log in to WebAccess using your email account and password.
Click your profile/picture icon in the upper-right corner and open Settings (Einstellungen).
Navigate to Import/Export → GroupWare.
Click Import (Importieren).
Select the previously saved XML file (.xml) from your device.
Start the import and wait until the process is complete.
Once the import has been completed successfully, your restored GroupWare data will be available in WebAccess.
Important Notes
Processing time: Depending on the number of entries, exporting or importing your data may take some time.
Do not interrupt the process: Wait until your browser confirms that the export or import has been completed successfully.
Keep your backup file safe: Store the exported XML file in a secure location.
Regular backups: Create new backups regularly to ensure you can restore the most recent version of your data whenever possible.
Important: Do not close your browser window or interrupt the export or import process before the confirmation message appears.
