Domain Manager: Manage and Update a Registered Domain

What changes can I make to a domain registered with Webland?

Have you registered a domain name with Webland and want to manage its settings yourself?

The Webland Domain Manager allows you to manage and update various settings for your registered domain.

These include changing nameservers, activating or deactivating your domain, and creating, assigning or editing domain contacts.

Who is this guide for?

This guide applies exclusively to customers who manage their domains through the Domain Manager on the previous Webland platform (Classic).

You can access it here:

Are you already using the new Webland platform (WHMCS)? Then log in via the new Webland website. The following management information applies to the previous platform.

What Settings Can I Change in the Domain Manager?

The Webland Domain Manager provides several functions for managing your registered domains.

1. Change nameservers

You can update your domain's nameservers and choose which DNS provider is responsible for managing your domain.

For example, this may be necessary if you want to connect your domain to another hosting provider or move your DNS management to a different provider.

The Webland nameservers are:

  • ns1.webland.ch

  • ns2.webland.ch

  • ns3.webland.ch

  • ns4.webland.ch

Important: Changing nameservers may affect the availability of your website and the delivery of your emails.

Make sure all required DNS records are correctly configured with your new nameserver provider.

2. Activate or deactivate your domain

You can manage your domain's activation status through the Domain Manager.

This allows you to control whether your domain is active through its corresponding nameserver configuration.

Note: Deactivating a domain may make associated services, such as websites and email, unavailable.

Deactivation is not the same as cancelling or deleting a domain registration.

3. Create or assign new domain contacts

You can create new contacts or assign existing contacts to your domain.

Domain contacts contain the contact information required for domain management.

Depending on the domain extension and available management functions, different contact roles may be supported.

4. Edit existing domain contacts

You can review and update the information of existing domain contacts.

This includes contact details stored for the management of your domain.

Important: Certain changes to domain contacts may be subject to additional requirements or verification procedures, depending on the domain extension.
