cPanel: Hosting: Transfer a Domain to Webland

Here you will learn how to transfer an existing domain from another provider to Webland. You can start the domain transfer directly using the “Transfer a Domain” tool in cPanel.

Who is this guide for?

This guide applies to customers with cPanel hosting on the new Webland platform (WHMCS) who have access to the “Transfer a Domain” tool.

Are you using the System Configurator or Domain Manager? If so, log in at classic.webland.ch. The following steps do not apply to the previous Webland platform.

You can also start a domain transfer directly in the Webland Customer Area under “Transfer Domain”.

Requirements

  • You have an active cPanel hosting service on the new Webland platform.

  • You are logged in to the Webland Customer Area.

  • You have access to the domain you want to transfer to Webland.

  • You have a valid authorization code (Auth Code or EPP Code) for your domain. You can obtain this from your current domain provider.

  • The domain is unlocked for transfer and is not subject to a transfer lock.

A domain transfer moves the management of your domain to Webland. Your existing web hosting and email services are not automatically migrated to Webland.

1. Open your cPanel Hosting

Open Services in the main menu of the Customer Area.

Find your cPanel hosting service under your active products and services.

Click Log in to cPanel for the corresponding service.

This will open the management interface of your cPanel hosting.

2. Open the Domain Transfer Tool

In cPanel, locate the Tools section.

Select Transfer a Domain from the available applications.

You will be redirected to the domain transfer page.

3. Enter the Domain for Transfer

On the Transfer Domain page, you can start transferring your existing domain.

Under Domain Name, enter the domain you want to transfer to Webland.

Then, under Authorization Code, enter the valid Auth Code or EPP Code provided by your current domain provider.

Click Add to Cart.

4. Order the Domain Transfer

Open your shopping cart and review the details of your domain.

In particular, check:

  • The domain name.

  • The authorization code you entered.

  • The displayed costs and contractual terms.

Then complete the order.

Please note that for certain domain extensions, the registration period is extended as part of the transfer. The conditions may vary depending on the domain extension.

5. Complete the Domain Transfer

After completing the order, the domain transfer will be processed according to the requirements of the respective domain extension.

Depending on the domain extension and your current provider, additional confirmations or approvals may be required.

The duration of the transfer depends on the domain extension and the applicable transfer conditions.

Make sure to respond to any confirmation requests in a timely manner.

Frequently Asked Questions and Troubleshooting

I cannot find the “Transfer a Domain” tool.

Check whether you have opened your cPanel hosting on the new Webland platform.

Alternatively, you can start the domain transfer directly in the Webland Customer Area using the “Transfer Domain” function.

Where can I find my Auth Code?

You can obtain the Auth Code or EPP Code from your current domain provider.

Depending on the provider, you may be able to retrieve it directly from the domain management interface or request it from their support team.

My Auth Code is not accepted.

Check whether:

  • You have entered the complete and correct Auth Code.

  • The Auth Code is still valid.

  • The domain has been unlocked for transfer.

  • There is no transfer lock in place.

If the transfer is still not possible, contact your current domain provider.

How long does a domain transfer take?

The duration depends on the domain extension and your current provider.

Some transfers can be completed within a short time, while others may take several days.

Will my website be transferred automatically during the domain transfer?

No. A domain transfer moves the domain registration to Webland.

Your website files, databases, and email accounts are not automatically migrated.

Will my website and emails remain accessible during the transfer?

In general, existing services remain accessible as long as the nameservers and DNS settings remain unchanged and continue to function.

Therefore, before starting the transfer, check which DNS settings are currently in use and whether they will remain available after the transfer.

My domain transfer is not working.

Check the Auth Code, the transfer status, and any possible transfer locks.

If you need assistance, contact our support team and provide the affected domain name and the error message displayed.
