Learn how to create databases for your Essential Hosting, access existing databases and open phpMyAdmin from the client area.
Who is this guide for?
This guide applies exclusively to Essential Hosting without cPanel on the new Webland platform (WHMCS). Databases are managed directly in the client area.
Do you use the System Configurator or Domain Manager? Sign in at classic.webland.ch. The steps below do not apply to the classic Webland platform.
Does your hosting use cPanel? Manage your databases in cPanel and follow the guide “Managing Databases in cPanel”.
Requirements
You have an active Essential Hosting plan with database functionality on the new Webland platform.
You are signed in to the client area.
Your user has the required permissions to manage the hosting service.
1. Open your Essential Hosting service
Open Services in the main menu of the client area.
Find your Essential Hosting service.
Click View Details next to the relevant service.
This opens your hosting plan’s management page.
2. Open database management
Click Manage Databases. This option is available in two places:
In the overview at the top of the service page.
In the menu on the left.
Both options open database management for the selected hosting plan.
3. Create a new database
Enter a password in the section for adding a database.
Enter the password again in the confirmation field.
Click Add Database.
Once created successfully, the database appears under Existing Databases.
Use a long, unique password and store the credentials securely. You will need them, for example, to connect your website to the database.
4. Manage existing databases
The Existing Databases section lists the databases already created for your hosting plan.
Using the available options, you can:
View your databases.
Change the password for the associated database login.
Open phpMyAdmin to manage database contents.
Select the phpMyAdmin option for the relevant database to manage its tables and contents.
If you change a database password, also update it in any applications that use those credentials. Otherwise, those applications will no longer be able to connect to the database.
