Changing the Domain Name

How can I change the domain name for my hosting?

Updated this week

You can change the primary domain name of your hosting free of charge.
Important: This change only affects your hosting – not the domain registration itself.

How to request the change

The change is made via an authenticated message in the System Configurator.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Log in to the System Configurator with your customer number and your customer password.

  2. Select the menu Customer Account.

  3. Click on Send authenticated message and confirm the desired new domain name.

Important Notes

  • The new domain name must be registered to you.

  • The DNS entries must already point to Webland so that your hosting remains accessible.

  • The change only affects the hosting – a domain registered with another provider cannot be moved.

  • If you no longer have a domain name, you can cancel the hosting and register a new domain if needed.

Technical Implications

Attention:
After changing the primary domain name, it may be necessary to make adjustments in your web applications (e.g. in CMS settings, path specifications, or e-mail configuration).

Therefore, we recommend that you contact your webmaster or developer in advance to ensure a smooth transition.
